A national champion sprinter for the Oregon Ducks is reportedly entering the transfer portal.
Junior Micah Williams, who won the NCAA indoor title in the 60-meter dash in 2021 and finished that season with the third-fastest time in the world, is set to leave Eugene this spring, according to a report from On3 Sports. Williams also joined the Oregon football program as a wide receiver last fall but did not play. He won his second consecutive 100-meter Pac-12 title during the 2023 outdoor season.
Williams owns the UO school record for the 60-meter dash at 6.48 seconds, ranked No 7 all-time in the collegiate ranks. He won the gold medal at the 2018 U-20 World Championships in the 4x100 relay, and originally came to Oregon by way of Benson Polytechnic High School in Portland. He was a three-time Gatorade track and field runner of the year for the Techsters.
