Gavin Turley and Jacob Krieg each hit home runs and drove in three runs apiece, and the No. 5 Oregon State Beavers cruised to a 13-5 victory against Gonzaga on Tuesday night in Corvallis.

One night after blanking the Zags 14-0, the Beavers again got plenty of offense as they racked up 17 hits and swept the two-game nonconference series in front of 3,757 at Goss Stadium.

Elijah Hainline and Wilson Weber each tripled, with Weber (2 for 3) driving in three runs and Hainline (3 for 5) bringing home two. Dallas Macias also with 3 for 5 with a double and an RBI.

Turley put the Beavers (23-4) on the board with his solo shot to left field in the first inning. Then Hainline’s single to right scored two more runs to put OSU up 3-0.

Oregon State tacked on four more runs in the third, with RBI singles from Krieg and Macias, plus Weber’s two-run single.

The 7-0 lead proved more than enough as the Beavers improved to 13-0 at home on the season and extended their overall winning streak at Goss to 16 games.

Gonzaga (7-18) answered with four runs in the top of the fourth but mustered just one run the rest of the way, in the eighth.

Oregon State put up a six-run sixth for the second night in a row. Weber opened the inning with a triple to center. After Travis Bazzana was intentionally walked, Turley doubled to drive in both. Mason Guerra followed with a single up the middle that brought home Turley. Then came Krieg’s two-run blast. Before the inning was over, Macias scored on Weber’s sacrifice fly.

Seven Oregon State pitchers combined for nine strikeouts while yielding nine hits and one walk. Nelson Keljo pitched a scoreless first, followed in the second by freshman Laif Palmer (1-0), who earned the win in his OSU debut after tossing one scoreless inning.

Next up: Oregon State’s nine-game homestand continues with a three-game series against Arizona State. Game 1 is set for 5:30 p.m. PT Friday.
