Two men arrested after carjacking in North Portland

Portland police arrested two men Friday night in Northeast Portland after a carjacking was reported in North Portland.

Police were dispatched to North Skidmore Street and Albina Avenue at about 7:40 p.m. Friday. Officers learned that a man was unloading groceries from his SUV when two men approached, police said. One of them pointed a gun at the victim and demanded his keys and the suspects drove off in the SUV. The owner of the SUV was not injured.

Police officers, including K9 and air support teams, were looking for the suspects when the SUV was spotted being near Northeast Lombard Street and 82nd Avenue. As officers responded to the area, they found the SUV crashed at Northeast 70th Avenue and Mason Street. They learned that two suspects had run away from the scene. Officers searched the neighborhood and quickly found two men, police say.

Raheim A. Carter, 41, was arrested on allegations of first-degree robbery and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Brandon T. Plumb, 24, was arrested on allegations of first-degree robbery and unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle.
