Portland Trail Blazers forward Toumani Camara will miss the rest of the season after suffering a broken rib during the team’s loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday.
Camara left in the fourth quarter of the Blazers’ 120-106 loss in Atlanta. Further testing revealed a fractured left rib and a kidney laceration, the Blazers said Saturday.
The rookie stayed in an Atlanta hospital but has since been released and is improving, the team said. The Blazers added that Camara is headed back to Portland and is expected to fully recover.
Camara came to the Blazers from Phoenix as part of the three-team Damian Lillard trade in September. In his first NBA season, Camara averaged 7.5 points and 4.9 rebounds across 70 games, with 49 starts.
