Trader Joe’s to open new store in Clackamas County

Trader Joe’s

Trader Joe's will open a new Portland-area location in unincorporated Clackamas County.

Trader Joe’s has announced plans to open a new store in Clackamas County.

The new store, at 15574 S.E. McLoughlin Blvd. in the unincorporated community of Oak Grove, would be the chain’s 12th in the Portland area. The retailer, however, did not disclose the new store’s expected opening date.

“We do not have a timeline beyond ‘Coming Soon,’” said Nakia Rohde, a spokesperson for Trader Joe’s.

A listing by real estate broker firm Commercial Realty Advisors Northwest indicates that the new Trader Joe’s store would replace a Dollar Tree that used to occupy the 20,000-square-foot site.

The new Milwaukie store is among the 16 upcoming locations that the company has listed on its website. Although Trader Joe’s did not specify opening dates for any of the listed stores, the company’s website states that they’re expected to open in 2024.

The small-format grocer has over 500 locations nationwide and 15 in Oregon. The California-based chain announced in January that it would open its second location in Clark County.
