The Oregon State Beavers host the Gonzaga Bulldogs Tuesday night in a midweek baseball matchup in Corvallis.
The teams were scheduled to begin a two-game series Monday night, but the opener was canceled because of inclement weather, forcing the Beavers and Bulldogs to settle for one game tonight.
Oregon State is coming off an impressive weekend series against the rival Oregon Ducks, during which it took two of three games in Eugene to earn its third consecutive Pac-12 series win.

This and that: This is the Beavers’ 17th nonconference game of the season. They are 13-3 against nonconference opponents so far. ... Thorsteinson is making his sixth appearance and third start of the season. He has yet to surrender a run in 2023, allowing seven hits and striking out 13 over nine innings. ... Oregon State’s pitching was overpowering against the Ducks, giving up six runs and 14 hits in three games. Oregon’s team batting average dropped from .301 to .287 over the weekend. ... The Beavers have held six of their last nine opponents to two or fewer runs. Oregon State is 10-2 this season when holding opponents to two runs or less. ...
