Among the Oregon Senate’s final acts before adjourning Thursday night was to sign off on $10 million to educate workers for an anticipated surge in hiring by Oregon’s semiconductor industry.

Lawmakers pitched the money as unfinished business from last year’s legislative session, when they approved more than $500 million in subsidies and tax incentives for chipmakers.
