No. 2 Oregon State baseball’s series finale at USC rained out

The No. 2 Oregon State Beavers’ road series finale against the USC Trojans has been rained out.

OSU will return to Corvallis to start a nine-game homestand that begins with baseball games against Gonzaga on Monday and Tuesday.

The trip to USC winds up one to forget for the visitors.

A 2-1 loss in the opener in the Beavers’ worst offensive showing of the season. A 17-4 drubbing in Game 2 as Oregon State committed a season-high six errors.

Here are a few notes about OSU:

This and that: Oregon State suffered back-to-back losses for the first time this season. USC’s series victory is the Trojans’ first against the Beavers since 2019, and their first at home against OSU since 2014. … Mason Guerra notched his ninth multi-RBI game of the season with his two-run single against USC on Friday night. … Travis Bazzana has 367 total bases for his career and needs 16 to break the OSU program record. … Since 2000, three OSU players have hit 15 or more home runs in a season: Trevor Larnach (15 in 2018), Jacob Melton (17 in 2022) and Bazzana (15 so far in 2024).
