Sheriff’s deputies carried in fresh flowers, court staff acted as ceremony witnesses, and heart-shaped balloons floated near the metal detectors. At the Multnomah County Courthouse on Wednesday, 12 couples were married for the county’s first ever “Love Day” celebration.
The inaugural event provided free Valentine’s Day wedding ceremonies for couples from diverse backgrounds with socioeconomic hardships.
