One day this winter, K. traveled from her home outside of Oregon to Portland and then to Hood River. She spent the night in a hotel and the next day, she became one of the growing number of people who have used Oregon’s legal psilocybin program.

Since its implementation, many in Oregon’s burgeoning psilocybin industry say that like K., a major percentage of people accessing the service in Oregon are traveling from out of state or even out of the country. Whether this out-of-state business will be enough to help psilocybin startups make it through the first years of the program is still an open question, but people in the industry are optimistic.
