A man was stabbed to death in Portland’s Old Town neighborhood Friday morning.
Officers arrived at Northwest Naito Parkway near Everett Street at 8:05 a.m. and found the man severely injured. Despite efforts from nearby private security officers and paramedics, the man died at the scene, police said.
The suspect left the area before officers arrived, police said. No arrests have been made.
Homicide detectives closed off Naito Parkway between Northwest Davis Street and Ironside Terrace for the initial phase of the investigation. The ramp to the Steel Bridge from northbound Naito Parkway also was closed, police said.
Officials have not yet released the name of the man who was killed.
If ruled a homicide, it would be the third such killing in Portland so far in 2024. The city recorded 77 homicides last year, and 101 in 2022.
