Assembly Brewing, a pioneer of Detroit-style pizza in Portland, to open Alberta Street location

Assembly Brewing, which five years ago transformed a former Southeast Portland grocery store into a brewpub that was among the first to bring now widely popular Detroit-style pizza to Portland, is opening a location on Northeast Alberta Street.

Assembly’s second location, the Pizza Annex, opens Friday in the former Bella Faccia Pizza, which closed last summer at Northeast Alberta Street and 29th Avenue. Unlike Assembly’s original location on Southeast Foster Road, the pizzeria-style location will have counter service, offer pizza-by-the-slice and will be family oriented, with minors welcome.
